Code of Practice have presented a proposal for a new-build residential building to complete an existing urban block in Berlin-Friedrichshain.
The efficient construction and flexible floorplan offer a number of layout variations to enable affordable rental accommodation. The elevations respond to the contrasting conditions of each side of the block, with generous glazing and balconies to the west facing garden.
The design seeks to go beyond the requirements of the KfW50 Energy classification, incorporating rainwater collections and solar heating.
